Handling and Storage of GLP-1 Medications (Semaglutide or Tirzepatide)
Updated over a week ago

How should I handle and store GLP-1 medications (semaglutide or tirzepatide), and what should I do if there are issues with the packaging or medication?

  1. Temperature Stability: GLP-1 medications are temperature-stable peptides. Exposure to elevated temperatures for less than 24 hours is unlikely to affect the medication.

  2. Received Warm Package: If you receive your package and the ice pack is melted and warm, the medication is still likely to be safe and effective.

  3. Storage Recommendation: Once received, it is recommended to store your medication cold.

  4. Medication Issues: If the medication solution becomes discolored or contains particulates, please contact the pharmacy or IVY RX Support.
