Your Weight Loss Journey on Semaglutide

Your semaglutide regimen may produce modest results at first. But, as you continue down your wellness path, your weight loss results will begin to take full effect.

It’s important to note that Semaglutide treatment may result in vitamin B12 deficiency. For this reason, we create a compounded treatment that is tailored to your unique bodily needs.

Below, you can find a detailed breakdown of your Semaglutide treatment schedule for the next 20+ weeks:

Short-term Effects: Weeks 1 - 4

Your body will adjust and adapt for the first four weeks of your semaglutide treatment. You should expect to feel significantly fuller following a meal and experience reduced hunger overall. Noticeable side effects may include nausea, which is expected upon the increase in dosage. Finally, it’s important to remember that while weight loss may occur, the results for your first month may be gradual.

Initial Prescribed dosage:

● Semaglutide: 2.5 mg

● Methylcobalamin: 100mcg/mL - per dose (0.25mg/0.1mg)

Mid-term Effects: Weeks 5 - 20

Midway through your Semaglutide journey, you will experience a continued decrease in cravings, hunger pangs, and reduced side effects. Due to your drastically reduced caloric intake, your results will be much more pronounced at this point. You may also experience other health benefits, including a reduced risk of cardiometabolic problems and regulated blood pressure.

Prescribed Dosage: Your dosage will increase accordingly.

Long-term Effects: Longer than 20 weeks

In the later stages of your Semaglutide treatment, you’ll likely be close to or have achieved your target weight. You will experience an enhanced quality of life and greater physical abilities and maintain newer, healthier cardiometabolic levels. Finally, as your body adapts to your new caloric intake and metabolic rate, your weight loss will stabilize.

However, it’s important to remember that every situation varies, and your body may respond differently than others. We encourage you to contact your provider should you have any concerns about your progress so we can develop the best plan moving forward.

Prescribed Dosage: Maintenance or otherwise as prescribed by your provider.

FAQs on Semaglutide

1. Is compounded Semaglutide safe?

There is no evidence to support that compounded semaglutide could negatively impact your health or weight loss results if you are a qualified candidate for the treatment. Compounded Semaglutide treatment will contain the same active ingredients that have been shown to produce results from name-brand GLP-1 agonists.

2. How long will it take for me to receive my treatment?

IVY RX strives to provide a swift turnaround once your order is approved. Typically, it takes 3 - 5 business days for processing. However, if treatment is in high demand, it could take around 7 - 10 business days.

3. How does self-administration work?

Compounded Semaglutide requires a subcutaneous injection. In other words, you must be able to inject yourself with your treatment. Although this can be incredibly daunting for some, we want to ensure that you have all the knowledge you need to administer your treatment confidently. Our team is available for any questions you may have and will provide guidance on how to draw the injection, store it, and administer it.

4. Who should not use Semaglutide?

Those who have been diagnosed with or have a history of the following should not take Semaglutide:

● Kidney disease

● Type 1 Diabetes

● Diabetic ketoacidosis

● Thyroid cancer

● Pancreatitis

● Multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)

Important Things to Know

As with any treatment regimen, you may experience side effects as your body adjusts to the Semaglutide. However, should any of these side effects become problematic or impact your daily life, you should seek medical attention as soon as you can.

Special Considerations

To maximize the results of your treatment, you are encouraged to administer your injections first thing in the morning without food or any of your medications. This is so your body can better absorb the treatment. If you must, wait 30 minutes to take any other medicines following your injection.

Most Common Side Effects of Semaglutide Treatment

Side effects are common when first starting your Semaglutide treatment. However, such side effects should diminish as your body adjusts. You may experience:

● Nausea

● Abdominal pain

● Constipation

● Vomiting

● Diarrhea

● Decreased appetite

Please seek immediate medical attention from your provider if you experience the following:

Severe Gastrointestinal Distress: symptoms like uncontrollable nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea could lead to dehydration and worsen any pre-existing kidney conditions.

Trouble swallowing, breathing, or swelling in your neck: such symptoms could indicate a serious thyroid condition known as a Thyroid C-cell tumor.

Severe back pain: If you’re experiencing unbearable back pain that won’t go away, you could be experiencing pancreatitis, which can have life-threatening complications if left alone.

Vision changes: this could signal diabetic retinopathy, which is experienced in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Pain in the upper right/middle stomach: you may be experiencing issues with your gallbladder, such as gallstones or inflammation. Other symptoms include fever, yellow skin or eyes, nausea, and vomiting.
