⚠️ Important Note:

Prioritize safety when administering injections at home. Ideally, a healthcare professional should administer the injection. Self-administration should only be done under the guidance and approval of your healthcare provider. Always follow your healthcare provider's instructions for taking your prescription.

A Guide on Self-Administering Semaglutide

This quick guide provides step-by-step instructions for self-administering Semaglutide through injection. It covers essential preparation, syringe handling, and injection techniques to ensure a safe and effective experience. Follow these simple steps to properly administer Semaglutide and care for the injection site afterward.

Getting Ready to Use

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water.

  2. Gather your supplies. This will typically include your Semaglutide vial, a new syringe or needle, and alcohol pads.

  3. Choose your injection site. For subcutaneous injections, the site is typically on the abdomen (avoid the 2-inch area directly around the belly button), thigh, or upper arm.

  4. Clean your preferred injection site with an alcohol pad and let it air dry.

Preparing the Syringe

To prepare your syringe for administering the Semaglutide, follow these quick steps:

  1. Remove the cap from the Semaglutide vial.

  2. Clean the rubber stopper on the vial with the new alcohol pad.

  3. Draw air into the syringe equivalent to the amount of Semaglutide you are going to inject. This action is used to equalize the pressure in the vial when extracting the medication.

  4. Insert the needle into the vial and push the plunger to inject the air into the vial.

  5. Without removing the needle, turn the vial upside down so that the needle is beneath the fluid level.

  6. Draw the desired amount of Semaglutide into the syringe.

  7. Remove any bubbles in the syringe by gently tapping the syringe with your fingers until the bubbles rise to the top. Press the plunger slightly until the bubbles are gone.

Administering the Injection

Once you've prepared the syringe, proceed with administering the injection by following these steps:

  1. Pinch your skin at the injection site.

  2. Hold the syringe like a dart and insert the needle into the skin at a 45-90 degree angle.

  3. Once the needle is inserted, release the pinched skin and slowly depress the plunger to inject the Semaglutide solution.

  4. After the injection, remove the needle from the skin.

  5. Discard the used syringe and needle in a sharps container for proper disposal.

⚠️ Important Note: Never reuse or share needles.

Providing Aftercare

After injecting the treatment, apply a band-aid to the injection site if needed. In case of any adverse reactions, such as nausea, vomiting, rapid heartbeat, or difficulty breathing, seek medical attention immediately.
