How to Inject NAD+
Updated over 2 months ago

⚠️ Important Note:

Prioritize safety when administering injections at home. Ideally, a healthcare professional should give the injection. Self-administration should only be done under the guidance and approval of your healthcare provider. Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions when taking your prescription.

A Guide on Self-Administering NAD+

This quick guide provides step-by-step instructions for self-administering NAD+ via injection. It covers essential preparation, syringe handling, and injection techniques to help ensure a safe and effective experience. Follow these steps to properly administer NAD+ and care for the injection site afterward.

Getting Ready to Use

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water.

  2. Gather your supplies. You will typically need:

    • NAD+ solution

    • A new syringe or needle

    • Alcohol pads

  3. Choose your injection site. For subcutaneous injections, common areas include:

    • Abdomen (avoid the 2-inch area around the belly button)

    • Thigh

    • Upper arm

  4. Clean your chosen injection site with an alcohol pad and let it air dry.

Preparing the Syringe

  1. Remove the cap from the NAD+ vial.

  2. Clean the vial’s rubber stopper with a new alcohol pad.

  3. Draw air into the syringe equivalent to the amount of NAD+ you plan to inject. This helps equalize pressure in the vial.

  4. Insert the needle into the vial and push the plunger to inject the air into the vial.

  5. Invert the vial with the needle still inside, ensuring the needle is below the fluid level.

  6. Draw the desired amount of NAD+ into the syringe.

  7. Remove any air bubbles by gently tapping the syringe with your fingers until the bubbles rise to the top, then press the plunger slightly to expel them.

Administering the Injection

  1. Pinch the skin at your chosen injection site.

  2. Hold the syringe like a dart and insert the needle at a 45–90° angle.

  3. Release the pinched skin once the needle is inserted, then slowly depress the plunger to inject the NAD+.

  4. Withdraw the needle from the skin after the injection.

  5. Discard the used syringe and needle in a sharps container.

⚠️ Important Note: Never reuse or share needles.

Providing Aftercare

  • Apply a bandage to the injection site if needed.

  • If you experience any adverse reactions—such as nausea, vomiting, rapid heartbeat, or difficulty breathing—seek medical attention immediately.
