What should I do if I run out of syringes/needles?
Additional syringes and needles can be purchased from community pharmacies or drugstores, including chains like Walgreens or CVS. If you were not sent enough syringes for your prescribed dose please reach out to us at [email protected].
Is it safe to use if my syringe or needle fell on the floor?
If the syringe or needle is completely sealed, including the needle sheath, then it is typically safe to use even if it has fallen on the floor.
However, if any part of it was unsealed or open when it dropped, it's important to discard it safely and use a new and sterile one. Always prioritize sterility when administering injections to prevent potential infections.
Where should I inject my subcutaneous (SubQ) medication?
Subcutaneous injections are typically given in areas where there is a layer of fat between the skin and the muscle, such as the following:
Abdomen (at least an inch away from the navel)
Thigh
Back or side of the upper arm
Upper buttock
Always ensure to rotate your injection sites to prevent skin problems. However, specific injection sites may depend on the type of medication you're using, your personal comfort, and your healthcare provider's instructions.
